President Rodrigo Duterte has a message to his people following the ongoing attack perpetrated by ISIS-linked group in Marawi City, saying "not be too scared."

In an exclusive interview with PCOO assistant secretary and blogger Mocha Uson, President Duterte urged the Filipino people to stay calm because he's now coming back home to handle the volatile situation in Marawi City.

“Mga kababayan natin, do not be too scared, I’m going home. I’m cutting my visit here to be with my countrymen. And I will deal with the problem once I arrive. But let me just clear everybody, I have declared Martial law for Mindanao,” said President Duterte.

President Duterte has decided to cut short his visit to Russia because of the situation in Marawi. He is now scheduled to leave midnight, Moscow time, and to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 5 pm on Wednesday, May 24, Manila time.

The President, earlier, declared Martial law in the entire island of Mindanao that will last for 60 days amid the clashes between government troops and Maute group terrorists in Marawi City.
