In a Facebook post, The Prime Minister’s Office of Japan (Shusōkantei 首相官邸) official page quoted the best experience of Mr. Abe during his first visit in Davao City.
Davao is the hometown of President Duterte, where he devoted nearly 40 years to its development. My wife and I were invited to visit his house for breakfast, and we spent a relaxing time together.
"I found Davao to be a city in which friendly feelings towards Japan are especially strong. At the international school established to educate ethnic Japanese Filipinos, I was moved by the warm welcome from children singing “Chiisana Sekai”(It’s a Small World) in Japanese. The Japanese language class I attended was taught by a teacher with a great sense of humor, and the students were having fun learning Japanese," wrote on Facebook.
Even the Japanese supporters of PM Abe responded and here's some of what they said:
"ほんとに、素晴らしい歓迎会ぶりですね。たしかに、涙目になりました。これなら、援助のかいもあるかもしれません。しかし、スゴい歓迎ぶりですね！フィリピンの皆さんと、仲良くしたくなりました It is truly a wonderful welcome party. Certainly, it made me cry. If this is the case, there may be aid for help. However, it was awesome welcome! I want to get along with everyone in the Philippines," Yuichi Yoshida said.
"うれしいですね～！涙が出ました。I’m happy to hear that! My tears have come out," Nobuhito Yamaguchi wrote.
"身震いする程、熱いものを感じました。ありがとうダバオ！ありがとうフィリピン🇵🇭 I felt a hot thing to shudder. Thank you Davao! Thank you Philippines," Tomohiro Kimura said.
