President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday joined an aerial inspection to some areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces affected by heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon during the weekend.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ricardo Jalad join the President in the aerial inspection.
According to state-run People's Television (PTV-4), Duterte flew over Metro Manila, Laguna, and Marikina to see the extent of damage and the status od Marikina River and Pasig River as well as the La Mesa Dam.
Earlier, the President was briefed about the situation of the affected areas led by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ricardo Jalad.
Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy Taguiwalo was also present to give an update on the status of the evacuation centers.
