Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada on Saturday expressed his support and sees nothing wrong with President Duterte's public naming and shaming of local government officials allegey linked to illegal drug trade.
“It’s alright, it’s alright,” the former President of the Philippines commented when asked to react on the name and shame campaign.
Acording to Estrada, if Duterte does not go after and shame these local government officials involved in drugs, more elected officials, "pretty soon we will have top government officials such as senators might become involved in drug syndicates.
When asked if he agrees Duterte's "shoot to kill" order against drug criminals, Estrada said: “Hangga’t maari sana. Lumaban na sila para mapatay na sila. Para matapos na silang lahat,” the Manila Mayor said.
(Whenever possible. Let them resist so they can be killed. So that we can finish them off)
Estrada added that children should be made aware of the dangers posed by drugs.
